Dangerous driving - have your say!

The family of Joetta Shumba call for stiffer sentences

The family of a young Manchester mum who was killed when a drink driver crashed on the M62 at 160mph is urging people to have their say on stiffer sentences.

Joetta Shumba, 25, died when the Audi she was travelling in collided with a lorry near the Eccles Interchange in the early hours of Sunday, January 24, 2017.

The mum-of-one had previously been reported missing from the Club Liv nightclub in Manchester city centre by worried family.

The man who was driving, Martin Grant, 30, from Birmingham, pleaded guilty to causing Joetta’s death by dangerous driving and was given eight years and will serve four behind bars.

Police have released an image of the speedometer on Grant’s Audi stuck on 160mph following the collision.

In December the Government launched a public consultation on dangerous driving following pressure from KEY103's Justice for Joseph campaign - which we launched when the dangerous driver who killed Joseph Brown-Lartey in Rochdale was told he'll serve just hallf of a six year sentence.

The public consultation runs until February 1st 2017. To have your say go to:
