Half of people in Manchester have thought about leaving their job in the past three months, according to new research.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The survey, conducted by conference call provider Powwownow, has been looking at the country’s attitudes towards work and has discovered that Manchester workers are one of the unhappiest in the UK with over a third not happy in their current job.

To date Manchester is behind the rest of the UK with only a fraction of companies offering flexible working hours compared to half of companies in London.

Jacqui Keep, Head of Content Marketing at Powwownow, said: “It’s surprising that such a forward-thinking city as Manchester is behind the rest of the UK in terms of their workers happiness.”

“We are slowly beginning to see a shift in the attitudes of businesses and employees towards smarter working but clearly more needs to be done in Manchester. The flexible working laws which came in last year have made a huge difference offering a greater work/life balance.”
