Major Fire In Manchester City Centre

Published 12th Oct 2015

The Old CWS building in Manchester city centre is on fire.

Crews are now bringing the blaze under control, but it's caused major disruption in the city centre through rush hour.

Around 30 firefighters were at the scene, they were called to Withy Grove at around 5:25 this evening.

It seems like the fire was confined to the roof and there are no reports of injuries.

Fire crews are asking commuters to remain patient though - as Trams have been suspended between Market Street and Victoria.
