What is Manchester Day?

Manchester Day is an annual event that celebrates everything great about the city and this year is celebrating 10 years. It's a day for families, residents and visitors to get together and celebrate all things Mancunian that have made Manchester on of the world's most iconic cities.

Manchester Day is a chance for communities to get creative and celebrate pride in the city and show what makes them feel uniquely Mancunian. There are over 1500 performers and artists from local communities involved in a spectacular display of colour, sound and movement.

When is Manchester Day?

Manchester Day Parade takes place on Sunday 23rd June from 1pm.

The Manchester Day Route

For the first time in its 10 year history the parade will start from Princess Street before heading along Portland Street and Peter Street before turning on to Deansgate for the final stretch.

If crowds aren't your thing then it's advised you head to Princess Street to watch the parade as the crowds are expected to be a little less busy.

Getting to Manchester Day

Manchester Day is aiming to be as green as possible so everyone is encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport when travelling into the city. This will also help you avoid the stress of parking and distribution caused by road closures for the event.

All the information about travel into the city can be found on the Manchester Day website.
