Manchester’s new £25 million art centre ‘Home’ launched today as members of the press were given a guided tour of the building it’s hoped will become the cultural heart of the city.

The 7000 square foot building situated in Tony Wilson Place not far from where the famous Hacienda once stood houses a five screen cinema, café and theatre complex.

The new venue, is aimed to take over from the Cornerhouse which has since closed its doors as an art cinema as well as theatre.

Rochdale-born filmmaker Danny Boyle is a patron of the new Home venue and it’s hoped it will encourage creativity around the city.

Chief Executive David Moutrey says he believes Home will be a massive boost to the city centre.
