Mass Sleepover in Manchester

Published 2nd Oct 2015

Dozens of people are spending the night sleeping rough on Manchester's most famous street.

The former set of the longest-running TV soap, Coronation Street, agreed to let people become Weatherfield residents for the night and bed down on its iconic cobbles to raise funds for Action for Children’s youth services in the area.

Byte Night North West takes place tonight on Friday, October 2, with around 250 people expected to spend the night exposed to the elements at the Quay Street set, where dramatic soap history has been plotted and made.

Damian Pettit, head of payment operations at RBS and co-chair of the Byte Night North West committee is taking part for the third year in a row.
