Metrolink bosses say sorry as frost causes major morning delays

Passengers left seeking alternative transport as temperatures drop.

Commuters in Manchester faced chaos this morning as icy conditions brought parts of the Metrolink service to a standstill.

Transport bosses apologised to passengers as some were forced to use replacement bus services.

Ice on overhead cables was blamed for causing disruptions first thing this morning as many commuters made their way to work.

Metrolink say they're doing all they can to ensure the issue doesn't arise again as temperatures are expected to drop for much of the week.
