Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was left fighting for his life after a collision in Middleton.

Shortly after 7.10pm on Sunday 12 May 2019 police were called to Heywood Old Road in Middleton to reports that a motorbike had collided with a lamppost.

Police and ambulance services attended and a 22-year-old man was taken to hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for life threatening injuries.

PC Seamus Toal of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “My thoughts are with the man as he fights for his life in hospital, and his family who are by his bedside.

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision to get in touch, in particular those who may have dash-cam footage of the incident.

“We hope to be in a better position to give the man’s family the answers they crave in the coming days.
