Detectives leading a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of Kennie Carter have released CCTV footage of a man riding a bike that they think could be a witness to the Stretford attack.

On the evening of Saturday 22 January this year, 16-year-old Kennie was fatally stabbed on Thirlmere Avenue as he walked back towards his home.

Police have since embarked on a wide-ranging inquiry into his death, which has seen 14 teenagers arrested so far - with 10 remaining on bail - and the analysis of hundreds of hours of CCTV footage which has helped build an increasingly-developing picture of the evening's events.

Video trawls have now uncovered footage of what appears to be a man riding a bike on Thirlmere Avenue at 6.37pm and officers believe he could’ve been an important witness to the incident itself or the surrounding moments.

Police are keen to stress he is not wanted in connection with the murder investigation but they want him to get in touch so officers can understand what he may have seen on the night.
