Police receive report of severed hand in canal but it's not as sinister as first thought
A worried passer-by calls police to report seeing a hand in the water...but later realises it was a glove!
Greater Manchester police received reports of a 'severed hand' in the canal in Manchester City Centre.
A worried passer-by spotted it in the Rochdale Canal near Ducie Street and called the police but on closer inspection realised it was in fact a glove!
Officers were then notified immediately of the mistake which resulted in GMP City Centre tweeting:
