Renewed appeal after violent armed robbery in Cheetham Hill.

Men armed with weapons targeted a business and attacked members of staff.

A man’s being treated for serious injuries after he was attacked with a baseball bat and meat cleaver during a violent robbery in Cheetham Hill.

It happened on Tuesday 14th August 2014 on Cheetham Hill Road.

At around 2:45 pm police were called by the ambulance service to a business premises.

Three men were reported for breaking into the premises armed with a baseball bat and meat cleaver and assaulting two male members of staff, before stealing a large amount of money.

A man in his 60s was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries to his head and arms.

Detective Inspector Andy Buckthorpe, from GMP’s City of Manchester Division, said, “We are pleased that the injured man is recovering well and we are committed to getting him the justice he deserves.

“We are following several lines of enquiry and believe that there are still people out there with information on this robbery. This was a violent crime right in the heart of the community during broad daylight. Someone must have seen the offenders in the lead up to this terrifying incident, or in moments afterwards. Even the tiniest piece of information can open up new lines of enquiry and lead to successful prosecutions.”

The three offenders, who were wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered, left the scene in a silver vehicle.
