Thousands take to the streets for Manchester Marathon

Tens of thousands of people are set to push themselves to the limit later and tackle the world-famous Manchester Marathon.

32,000 runners are expected to run the twenty six mile course fundraising for all kinds of good causes.

A number of road closures are in place with people being urged to check before they travel.

The route covers the city centre, Chorlton, Altrincham, Hulme, Stretford and other areas of Trafford.

It kicks off from Old Trafford Cricket Ground at 8:55am.

07:30 – 20:00 Edge Lane to Ashfield Road

(one lane open to access M60

from Green Street)

07:30 – 16:30 Ashfield Road to Stamford

Brook Road

03:00 – 20:00 Barton Road to Edge Lane

07:30 – 16:30 White City Circle to

Deansgate Interchange

03:00 – 16:30 Edge Lane to White City Circle
