Rochdale Firearms Incident- Five Men Arrested

Five men have been arrested following a firearm being discharged in Rochdale.

At around 11.05pm on Wednesday 30th September, police were called to Cecil Street in Rochdale following reports of shots fired at people in a car.

Officers attended and discovered damage to the windscreen of the car, believed to be consistent with a firearms discharge.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

A full investigation was launched and at around 9:30pm on Thursday 1st September, five men were stopped in a car on Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The men remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Lee Hopwood said: “We currently have five men in custody in connection with this incident however the investigation continues and I would like to continue to appeal to anybody with information to please contact the police.”
