Stabbing closes Salford park

A man's been stabbed in the chest in a park in Salford this afternoon (Thursday 17th May 2018).

It happened on Mandley Park Avenue in Broughton at about 12:20.

Police have released a statement saying:

"Police were called to Mandley Park Avenue, Broughton, shortly before 12.20pm on Thursday 17 May to reports that a man had been stabbed.

"Officers attending found a male victim in his 40s had suffered a knife wound to the chest, and been taken to hospital, where he remains.

"His injury is not believed to be life threatening.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
