A Stockport schoolboy's set himself a mammoth challenge to help support disadvantaged children across Greater Manchester.

George Hales who's 10 has decided to cycle 170 miles coast to coast with his dad, from Morcambe to Bridlington, to raise money for KEY103's Mission Christmas 2016.

On his fundraising page he says, "Since being young I have always been very active - Cycling, Motorbiking, Swimming, Cricket, Skiing. I am very lucky that I can do all these things and I have a mountain bike and a road bike. Last year I was watching Children In Need and was really shocked to see there are children that live very near to me in Manchester that have never ridden a bike let alone own one! I decided that I would combine my passion for cycling with raising some money to help children that are not as fortunate as me. On July the 7th 2016 I will be starting my 170 mile coast to coast bike ride from Morecambe to Bridlington to raise money to buy bikes and helmets for children in Manchester that are not as lucky as me. I am doing this through the KEY103 Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Charity. The money raised will be used specifically to buy bikes and helmets for local children who have been identified by the charity. I would really really appreciate any support you can give me, and if you fancy joining me for any of the ride you are more than welcome.

George is set to complete his challenge on Sunday 10th July.
