Teenager charged with murder in Salford

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a stabbing in Salford.

Police were called on Friday afternoon to reports that a man in his 50s had been stabbed in Silverdale Avenue, Irlam.

Emergency services attended and the seriously injured victim was taken to hospital, where he died on Saturday evening, said Greater Manchester Police.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear from custody at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Monday.
