Tributes are being paid to a 16-year-old boy who was hit by a train in Stockport just days after collecting his GCSE results.

Lee Ridgway's said to have posted a status on Facebook the night before he died saying 'Life's cruel...life's just a game..I lost'.

He was found dead near Bramhall Station in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday.

British Transport Police say they're investigating and are preparing a file for the coroner.

In a statement released through BTP Lee’s family said:

“Lee was a brilliant, kind, clever and popular person to all who knew him and will be greatly missed.”

The family have now asked for privacy.
