Police have released CCTV footage of a man they want to question in connection with a knifepoint robbery in Bolton.

At around 5.20pm on Monday 4th July 2016 police received a report of a robbery at a newsagents on Entwistle Street, Tonge Moor.

A man had entered the shop carrying a knife and a carrier bag before and dived over the counter, demanding money from the till and the safe.

He stole cash from the till and told the 21-year-old customer assistant that if she “did as she was told, she wouldn’t get hurt.”

The offender fled the building with cash and cigarettes.

Police have released CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to in connection with the robbery.

Detective Constable Chris Hickey of GMP’s Bolton Borough, said: “Fortunately, the woman in the shop escaped without injury but there has been an immense psychological impact, preventing her from feeling safe as she goes about her daily life.

“If anyone has any information about the incident, please contact police as soon as possible.”
