Dog walker assaulted in Scarborough
The incident took place yesterday on Manor Road
North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses or CCTV in relation to a dog bite and assault in Scarborough.
The incident took place at around 12.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 17th August) on Manor Road, near to the bridge in the park. A man was walking his dog when he was approached by another dog who was off-lead.
Police say a fight broke out between the dogs and as the man attempted to separate them, the owner of the other dog approached and a physical and verbal altercation between the two male dog owners took place. During the altercation, the reportee suffered a number of dog bites to his hands and arms.
Officers are requesting any witnesses to the incident to come forward and speak to them, so they can establish the full circumstances around the incident. They would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have captured phone, doorbell or CCTV footage of the incident.
They would also like to speak to the owner of the dog who was off-lead. He is described as being around 5ft 11in tall, with blond spiky hair and was wearing denim.
