An Oxfordshire group who work with refugees has been responding to Rishi Sunak's Rwanda Bill.

They're calling on people to "stop the flights."

The group Asylum Welcome is calling on the airline industry to stand with refugees.

In a statement they said of the controversial scheme to send illegal migrants to the African nation:

"The passage of the Rwanda Bill, despite numerous challenges from the House of Lords, is devastating news for us and for all who care about human rights. The bill flies in the face of international law and our own Supreme Court. The asylum seekers we work with in Oxford are now terrified, fearing they will be torn away from their communities to a place where they are not safe. Based on what we have seen so far, we are certain that children will be among those selected for forcible deportation to Rwanda, a prospect that fills us with dread. This is a very dark day for human rights in Britain, but it is not the end. We call on people everywhere (including within the airline industry) to stand with refugees and stop the flights."
