Teenager denies sharing terrorist documents

An 18-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to disseminating terrorist publications.

Alex Edwards, formerly known as Alex Hutton, entered his plea at Winchester Crown Court to sharing the file while intending or being reckless as to whether they could encourage the preparation of acts of terrorism.

The teenager, of Morriston in Swansea, south Wales, previously pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm against a woman on May 20 2023.

He also previously admitted having a bladed article in a public place in November and breaching a criminal behaviour order imposed on September 9 2021.

The terrorism offence, alleged to have taken place on a date between September 24 to November 16 2023, is understood to relate to an extreme right-wing homemade video.

Judge Christopher Parker KC adjourned the case until the trial on the terrorism offence and an offence of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, which is set to start on July 2.
