Second man charged in connection with Darnall Stabbing

South Yorkshire Police have confirmed a second man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing in Sheffield.

It happened on Staniforth Road in the Darnall area of the city on Tuesday evening - in which a 21 year-old man suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.

24-year-old Adil Mohammed from the city has been remanded in police custody ahead of a court appearance tomorrow.

In a statement, South Yorkshire Police said: "A second man has been charged in connection to a stabbing in the Darnall area of Sheffield.

"Adil Mohammed, 24, of Acres Hill Road, Sheffield is charged with attempted murder. He is remanded in police custody and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (15 April).

"His charge relates to an alleged assault on Staniforth Road on Tuesday evening (9 April), in which a 21 year-old man suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital."

This means that both, Adam Mohammed, 28, and Adil Mohammed, 24, from Acres Hill Road have been charged in connection with this incident and have been remanded into custody.

The 28-year-old appeared before magistrates on Friday and is next due at Sheffield Crown Court next month - on May 10th.
