South Yorkshire Police have launched a re-appeal for information two years after a man died in a car wash shooting.

Lamar Leroy Griffiths was 21 when on March 29th 2022, he was the victim of a shooting at Diamond Hand Car Wash in the Burngreave area of Sheffield.

Emergency services were called to the scene and tried to treat Griffiths, but he sadly died as a result of his injuries.

At the time, a murder investigation was launched by the force, which led to several arrests in connection with the shooting.

Following their enquiries, police charged two men - Abdul Hakim and Nasser Nashir - for their roles in the incident, with the two men pleading guilty to assisting an offender.

However, despite the force charging Hakim and Nashir for their parts in the shooting, officers are still looking to find who carried out the attack.

Two years on from the murder, South Yorkshire Police are appealing once again for any information regarding the incident to come forward.

In a statement, South Yorkshire Police's Detective Chief Inspector Andrea Bowell, who is the Senior Investigating Officer for the case asked anyone who might have any information to make themselves known.

"Lamar was sitting in a BMW parked in the car wash when two suspects fired several gunshots towards the car," she said.

"Lamar suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, with the shooting happening at around 6.45pm.

"I want to implore anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch so we can secure justice for Lamar's loved ones."

She finished: "I cannot imagine the pain they must have endured and must still be going through after losing Lamar at such a young age."

Ms Bowell added that anyone who could help provide any information relevant to the case should get in touch by calling 101 and quoting incident reference number 774 from March 29th, 2022.
