Manchester City look to face Borussia Mönchengladbach tomorrow evening without captain Vincent Kompany after he went off injured with a concussion at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Belgian centre back missed training this morning and looks set to add to City’s defensive woe’s, after they’ve failed to keep a clean sheet in twelve consecutive games in all competitions.

City will be looking to build off a famous 3 – 1 win against Barcelona at the Etihad on the 1st November. The win left them second in Group C just two points behind Pep Guardiola’s former side.

Mönchengladbach enter tomorrows match in a poor run of form only managing one win in their last five games, leaving them 13th in the Bundesliga. Their Champions League results have also been lacklustre managing only four points after a victory and a draw over bottom of the group Celtic.

The Blues were successful in their last meeting with the German side in September winning 4 – 0, curtesy of a Sergio AgÜero hat trick and a late goal from Kelechi Iheanacho. However, an impressive win over City could see Mönchengladbach leapfrog City to qualify for the round of 16.

Guardiola will also be without in form midfielder Yaya Toure who scored twice this weekend and was left out of City’s Champions League side. The Ivorian playmaker will be eligible for selection if City can progress to the next round.
