United and City made easy work of their FA Cup third round games this weekend as both sides demolished their opponents with ease.

Friday night saw City making light work of their tough away fixture with West Ham winning 5-0 at the London Stadium. Yaya Toure got the hammering under way with a well taken penalty on the half hour and from then on City never looked back as Harvard Nordveit put through his own net less than ten minutes later. David Silva made it 3-0 before the stroke of half time as City threatened to run riot.

The second half saw little respite for the home side as Sergio Aguero made it 4-0 just five minutes after the interval, West Ham tried to rally but it was to no avail as John Stones completed the rout with five minutes left on the clock - piling the pressure on under-fire Hammers boss Slaven Bilic.

On Saturday United legend Jaap Stam was back at the club with his Reading side but it wasn't to be a happy return for the former Red defender as the home side tore apart their Championship opposition.

Wayne Rooney fired United into the lead after a few minutes, equalling Sir Bobby's record of 249 goals for the Reds. After fifteen minutes Anthony Martial had doubled United's lead as Reading struggled to cope with the pace of the game.

A second half brace from Marcus Rashford saw United rampant and in many ways the 4-0 scoreline flattered the visitors who seemed to be on damage limitation for much of the match.

The draw for the next round takes place at 7.10 pm tonight.
