United easily dispatched Feyenoord turning up the class with a 4 - 0 victory in the Europa League at Old Trafford last night, their biggest win since Jos Mourinho has taken charge.

Having previously lost to the Dutch side in the reverse fixture of Group A, the Reds showed their quality with stellar performances by captain Wayne Rooney and Henrik Mkhityrian.

After a cagey first 20 minutes second choice keeper Sergio Romero produced a fantastic double save to prevent former Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt opening the scoring for the away side. United broke the deadlock through Wayne Rooney in the 39th minute who is now just one goal away from matching Sir Bobby Charlton's goal scoring record of 249.

In the second half Armenian playmaker Mkhityrian made a solid bid for first team football, only his second start for the club since signing for the club, confusing the Feynoord defence with silky footwork and a world class reading of the game. United doubled the score after Wayne Rooney silenced his critics with a skilful assist, allowing for Juan Mata to poke home from close range in 69th minute. Mourinho's men then turned up the heat on Feynoord in the closing stages proving they were on another level.

A dangerous cross into the box by Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw Australian keeper Brad Jones turn the ball into his net add to United’s score. The Reds didn't stop there, pressuring the away side into mistakes allowing for substitute Jesse Lingard to curl in a beauty in the stoppage time to add insult to injury for the visitors.

United now enter their final Europa League group match against Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk on the 8th December knowing a draw or a win will take them in to the final 32.
