Investigation after serious assault in Stoke-on-Trent

Police are investigating after a man was seriously assaulted in Stoke on Trent.

At around 1am on Saturday (23 March) the man, in his 40s, was approached by two males near Ball Hayes Road in Chell Heath and was attacked.

The victim has needed surgery, but his injuries aren't thought to be life-threatening or life-changing

The two men were wearing black clothing, including black balaclavas, and were seen heading in the direction of Chell Heath Road following the assault.

Officers want anyone who saw anything to contact them
