Man arrested after woman struck with a brick in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been arrested after a woman was struck with a brick in Stoke-on-Trent.

At 1.25pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 10 April), police were called to Derby Street in Hanley, after a man was seen causing a disturbance.

Later, the man picked up a brick and a stick and allegedly used them to hit a woman after being challenged. He was also seen jumping on cars in the area.

The victim's injuries aren't thought to be serious.

A 42-year-old man, of no-fixed-address, has been arrested on suspicion of assault thereby occasioning actual bodily harm.

He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
