A man charged over the death of a six-year-old girl, who was hit by a car in Stoke-on-Trent, has appeared in court.

Sharlotte Sky-Naglis died after her and her father were both struck by a vehicle on Endon Road, Norton Green in June 2020.

John Owen, 45, from the Staffordshire Moorlands, appeared at North Staffordshire Justice Centre wearing a purple jumper, long blue jacket, jeans and brown boots.

He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and current address.

Owen is charged with causing death by dangerous driving on 19th June last year.

He has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear again at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 11th February.
