Calum Scott joined our King of the Jungle Sam Thompson on Hits UK last night, when he revealed he is working on a new album, and possibly a solo tour! The singer who is already touring with Ed Sheeran later this year, also recounted an awkward moment at last year's Hits Live Birmingham.

Calum joined the line-up at Hits Live Birmingham back in November 2023, and he told Sam how he hadn't been feeling very well that day.

"In Birmingham I thought I’d pooed my pants!" Calum admitted. "I had a really bad tummy, I don’t know why I’m telling you this but just between me and you Sam.

Calum Scott - Dancing On My Own (Live at Hits Live):

"I had a really bad belly and I was on the toilet all afternoon. I banged an Imodium in - I was wearing a suit so I was like ’best make sure I don’t have an accident!’ - but halfway through I was like ‘I think it’s happened!’."

He added: "If it had happened I’d have spent the last 15 minutes with it on my person. But I was a professional, I delivered the songs but I didn’t turn around, I didn’t dare. I was clenching! It was real..." 🤣

Thankfully all was OK, and Calum gave a fantastic performance of several songs including his collaboration with Jax Jones 'Whistle'.

Calum Scott's new album

Calum was at Hits Radio to talk to Sam about his new single 'Lighthouse' which is due out next week, and revealed that he might be working on a new album. He told Sam: "There may be a tour – I can’t confirm or deny that either!

"And for me I’m constantly working towards an album because they’re chapters of your life. My first album I was just like I can’t believe I get to do this! I’ve gone from working at Hull City Council, literally talking about Sandra and her off street parking, to touring the world.

"Album two was more mature, talked about some mental health issues and stuff and then this album I think I’ve spread my wings a bit, it’s a new era."

Is there a Calum Scott and Ed Sheeran collaboration?

Although Calum hasn't yet released a collaboration with Ed Sheeran, he told Sam how the pair have already worked together. "Ed wrote a song for David Guetta and I vocaled it, sent it to David, and Ed and David emailed me back and said ‘You sound good. David.’

"I was like I don’t know how to take that! I texted back and replied ‘I’m here if you need me. Calum.’ He’s not messaged back!!"
