Ipswich remain top of the Championship after a dramatic win over Southampton.

With the scores level at 2 - 2 after 90 minutes, Jeremy Sarmiento secured the win with a stoppage time goal in a thrilling 3-2 victory at home.

Leif Davis and Nathan Broadhead had netted earlier in the game.

Speaking to TownTV after the game, Kieran said: “What a day for the football club, let’s take it in isolation, forgetting the league or the table.

"We’ve played Southampton, who were in the Premier League last year, with a wonderful squad who are very well-drilled in possession.

“This group of players have put every ounce of themselves into that performance, playing with bravery, spirit and quality. We had a threat right the way through the game and, though there’s lots to learn and things to improve, the never-say-die spirit and belief in the group, as well as the way the fans engaged in the game, came together to make a wonderful game and a wonderful outcome.

“What a way to win a game and what a wonderful outcome. It’s one to really enjoy.”

Attention will now turn to the East Anglian Derby - the Blues will visit Norwich at Carrow Road on Saturday.
