Police have arrested three men following a series of incidents in Woodbridge involving a machete or long knife.

Officers were called at around 6.30pm last night (Sunday 7 April), to an incident at Elmhurst Park, where a teenage boy had been approached by four men, one of whom produced a machete.

All four men then left the scene.

Police were then made aware of a second incident at around 8.10pm outside a kebab shop on Warwick Road.

Two boys were approached by two unknown men in a blue Ford Fiesta, who threatened the boys with a machete before driving away in the direction of Edwin Avenue.

Finally, officers were called to a third incident around 8:20pm at the skate park near Station Road.

A woman was approached by three men, one of whom threatened her with a large knife.

The suspects then left the scene in a blue Ford Fiesta.

Following a search of the area, police say they found three male suspects, two 19-year-olds and one 18-year-old, on Newbourne Road, Brightwell, near the roundabout on Foxhall Road.

They were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery at around 8.55pm and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Police are now urging any witnesses to come forward.
