Police have arrested a man after a van containing over 1.2 million illegal cigarettes was stopped on the A19.
Matrix team officers stopped the Renault vehicle yesterday (Friday 19th April) and they found 123 boxes - each containing 10,000 cigarettes.
Officers say they have all been seized.
The male driver of the van was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and HMRC related offences.
Cleveland Police Matrix Team say they'll continue to target illegal use of the roads.
