Although the #ClapForCarers campaign, which was set up by Dutch lady Annemarie Plas back in March, came to an end in May, it has been announced that a National Clap For Carers will take place on Sunday 5th July, to help celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the amazing NHS.

The NHS and newly founded coalition Together have set the event up and are encouraging everybody across the UK to take part at 5pm this coming Sunday.

The post reads, 'On Sunday 5th July mark the birthday of the NHS by joining together to say a big “thank you” to everyone who is helping us through these difficult times, from carers and helpers, to friends and family. And make a promise to each other to get through the months and years ahead, together!'.

As well as National landmarks being lit up across the country, organisers urged people to put a light in their windows on Saturday 4th July, to help remember the people lost throughout the awful pandemic.

Then, on Sunday 5th July at 5pm, people should stand at their front doors to join in with a one-off Clap For Carers, which is being dubbed the 'biggest yet' for five minutes.

But it doesn't end there! Organisers are then urging participants to raise a glass at 5.05pm, to thank each other during the recent tough times.

After that, people are being asked to stay outdoors to chat with neighbours who may be isolated and lonely, showing just how much they are appreciated.
