Archived letter from The Queen released signed 'Love from Lilibet'
The first letter from Princess Elizabeth to Queen Mary is released.
Ahead of The Queen's 90th birthday an archived letter has been released.
The 'thank you' letter, is the first letter written by the young Princess Elizabeth to her grandmother Queen Mary.
Written on headed note paper, with the address simply saying '145 Piccadilly, W1', Princess Elizabeth thanks her grandmother for a doll's house which she has been given and says that she has 'unpacked the dining room and the hall'.
She then affectionately signs the letter from 'Lilibet', the nickname for her used by the family.
Also released at the same time as the archived letter is a photo of Princess Elizabeth and Queen Mary in which they are smartly dressed wearing long coats and hats.
Many of the comments left on the official Facebook page agree there is a real likeness between Queen Mary in the photo and Queen Elizabeth now, as she is about to hit the milestone birthday of 90 years.
