Festival organisers 'shocked' after two die at T in the Park

The deaths were separate incidents

Police are investigating after two teenagers sadly died at the T in the Park festival in Perthshire today (Friday 8th July).

Police Scotland confirmed reports that a male and female had both died with the cases being treated as separate cases. Both deaths are unexplained at this stage.

A statement from Police Scotland reads:

"The deaths are unexplained at this time and work is ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding both.''

T in the Park director, Geoff Ellis said “We are shocked and saddened by today's news and our thoughts are with the families and friends at this time.We are offering our full support and assistance.''

The three-day event welcomes more than 80,000 people into the site at Strathallan Castle with Stone Roses, Calvin Harris and Red Hot Chilli Peppers all headling over the weekend.
