The best Twitter rivalries

Re-live these fiery public feuds

Published 1st Jun 2016

Twitter has seen some of the best arguments to date, especially as we all get to read them too. Here are some of the key moments when celebrities took to social media to air their feelings.

**Charlotte Crosby and Gaz Beadle

Reality stars Charlotte and Gaz have had a rocky relationship it seems. How do we know? Because they told the world on Twitter.

Recently Charlotte announced she was quitting Geordie Shore, saying she's willing to sacrifice that part of her career to be away from 'a liar and a cheat'. In another dig at Gaz she revealed she was excited to watch him take part on Ex On The Beach to see the 'numerous girls emerge from the water who you slept with behind Lillie's back.'

She then apologised and admitted that the rest of the conversation will be held in private.

In response, Gaz launched into his own rant and hit out at the star for using him as a reason to leave the show. He added 'You had your say I had mine…. Just leave it…. Or this will never end… Don't get angry if you don't like what I had to say…' and ended it with 'Happy f***ing Wednesday'.

Stephanie Davis and Jeremy McConnell

On-again off-again couple Stephanie and Jeremy have had a number of public arguments and break ups since meeting on Celebrity Big Brother.

The most recent feud seems to be over their unborn child, with Stephanie telling the world she'd rather be a single mother than have Jeremy in her life, who she said is 'constantly drunk' and partying all the time.

Jeremy responded asking people not to believe most of what she says and that she was cheating with her ex, Sam Reece, for months.

Stephanie shared private messages the pair had shared, where Jeremy allegedly accused her of being an escort, though he insists she took over his phone.

Stephanie also accused him of doing drugs and Jeremy seems to have stayed silent on social media since.

It comes after a whirlwind romance in and outside the CBB house, despite Stephanie having a boyfriend at the time she was on the show.

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift

It’s well known that Katy and Taylor aren’t the best of friends.

Speaking in an interview Taylor said that an un-named popstar ‘did something so horrible. I was like ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies'. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.’

Shortly after, Katy Perry tweeted ‘Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing’, referring to the jealous and spiteful character in the film Mean Girls.

After releasing the song 'Bad Blood' many thought that Taylor was hitting out at Katy but she insisted she never said anything that pointed a finger to anyone in particuler.

Fans hoped the feud was over when Katy seemed to tweet Taylor saying 'Miss u' but this was apparently because someone had hacked Katy's account.

Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift

Nicki Minaj wasn’t nominated for the 2015 Video of the Year award at the VMAs and tweeted her feelings on the situation.

Taylor Swift, who was nominated, felt it was aimed at her and responded to the ‘Anaconda’ singer saying ‘It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..’.

After Nicki pointed out the tweet wasn’t actually aimed at her at all, Taylor Swift awkwardly apologised then even asked the star to join her on stage if she won.

Adding fuel to the fire, Katy Perry even had her say by accusing Taylor of “capitalising on the take down of another woman.”

Kanye West and Wiz Kalifa

One very awkward Twitter war came from one big misunderstanding when Kanye West thought Wiz was insulting his wife Kim Kardashian.

Wiz tweeted 'Hit this kk and become yourself' referring to his strand of weed called 'Khalifa Kush'.

Kanye misunderstood and bombarded the rapper with more than 20 tweets, calling his music 'corny' and saying 'You wouldn’t have a child if it wasn’t for me' as the pair share an ex, Amber Rose.

But it was over as quickly as it began when Kanye realised the error of his ways.

Louis Tomlinson, Naughty Boy and Zayn Malik

Back when Zayn Malik left One Direction, producer Naughty Boy thought he’d play his part and tweeted an image of the pair with the caption ‘Replace this’.

Former band-mate Louis Tomlinson didn’t take too kindly to it and accused the producer of ‘riding on the back of someone else's career’.

Zayn then waded in to ask Louis ‘remember when you had a life and stopped making bitchy comments about mine ?’. The argument continued and saw the producer and Louis exchange names on their CVs.

The pair also clashed when Naughty Boy retweeted a video that implied he 'saved' Zayn after he left One Direction.

Louis hit out calling the producer 'inconsiderate' and Naughty Boy replied 'Calm down. Was talkin bout Louis Walsh cuz he didn't let someone through on X Factor. Look at the date of the tweet. #2014.’

To clear up the confusion Louis said Naughty Boy was 'Clearly trying to wind the fans up! Well you succeeded anyway. Fair play' then admitted he'd always struggled to hold his tongue.

Zayn Malik and Naughty Boy

Even though Zayn seemed to defend Naughty Boy when he clashed with Louis Tomlinson, their friendship wasn't to last and the singer hit out at the music producer after Zayn’s solo work was allegedly leaked.

The tension continued when Naughty Boy tweeted the cryptic message ‘Don’t feed the hand that bites you’ though he didn't reply directly.

Calvin Harris and Zayn Malik

Zayn even rubbed up DJ Calvin Harris the wrong way. It comes after the former One Direction singer tweeted a picture and quotes of Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, in which Taylor defends her decision about removing her music from Spotify.

Backing up his girlfriend, Calvin Harris told Zayn "If u don't get what it means when successful artist use their celebrity to benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry … stay out of my f*in mentions pls … While u kids are refresh voting teen choice awards there's some poor f**er in a basement making your new favourite record trying to survive … stay out of things you don't understand."

It didn’t go down well...

Despite Calvin’s efforts to calm the situation, Zayn had the last say when he wrote ‘Oh and I write my own s too dhead’.

Zayn Malik and Azalia Banks

Most recently Azealia Banks launched a shocking, racist attack on Zayn after she accused the singer of copying her music video Yung Rapunxel.

Although Zayn replied saying his tweet was not actually about her, the rapper continued her vile outburst.

Following her tweets, Azealia was banned from the social media account.
