Instagram REMOVES 'Following' tab that let you stalk people's likes 😱
Users are NOT happy!
Ahh Instagram! The ever-growing social media platform that allows users to show off their amazing (or not so amazing) lifestyles simply 'for the gram', as well as allowing people to 'stalk' what their friends and followers are up to.
Well, now, in news which hasn't gone down well with most users, Instagram bosses have decided to scrap the 'Following' tab which previously allowed users to see what pictures people have liked, as well as who they have followed.
Of course, if like us you are nosy and like to see what your followers are up to on Insta, this news has probably really annoyed you.
If you have the most recent update of Instagram you'll notice the 'following tab' has disappeared, meaning you can only see your own 'Activity' tab.
After noticing the change, many users took to rival site Twitter to explain their sadness. One user wrote, 'Dear @instagram please bring back the 'Following Tab'. Last night I cried to sleep because I couldn't stalk my crush. Please bring it back. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜'.
Another wrote, 'so Instagram just wont let me stalk people 😒', with a third adding, 'this new Instagram update told me to mind my own business!!! no more following activity tab. ghaaad, how am i supposed to stalk and upset myself now??? ðŸ˜ðŸ˜¹'. sic
Another angry fan added, 'HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO STALK NOW INSTAGRAM???'. sic
Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, broke the news earlier this week, writing, 'Today we're removing the 'Following' tab on Instagram, which was created to help people discover new posts and accounts their friends engage with. We're always trying to stay focused and keep Instagram simple, and so we celebrate launches and 'unshipping.'
As well as this change, Instagram also introduced a 'dark mode' this week, and they've also announced that the 'like count' on photos will be removed in the future.
