Is there any stopping Ed Sheeran? The flame-haired singer is celebrating a fourth consecutive week at number one with his new album ‘X’.

Already the fastest selling release of the year after shifting 182,000 in its first week, ‘X’ is also now the longest running number one of 2014 to date.

The previous longest runner was Paolo Nutini’s ‘Caustic Love’, which had a three-week chart reign in April and May.

According to the Official Charts Company’s sales data X has sold over 367,000 copies in the UK in the past month.

Ed also made chart history earlier this month by becoming the first artist to see all of his album’s tracks in the Official Singles Chart Top 100 simultaneously.

This week’s album chart Top 10 is as follows:

  1. Ed Sheeran ‘X’ 2. Morrissey ‘World Peace Is None Of Your Business’ 3. Dolly Parton ‘Blue Smoke – The Best Of’ 4. Sam Smith ‘In The Lonely Hour’ 5. George Ezra ‘Wanted On Voyage’ 6. Paolo Nutini ‘Caustic Love’ 7. Jungle ‘Jungle’ 8. Coldplay ‘Ghost Stories’ 9. 5 Seconds of Summer ‘5 Seconds of Summer’ 10. Ellie Goulding ‘Halcyon’
