As well as more artists to be announced very soon…

Canadian-born David “Kid” Jensen has one of the most recognisable voices in radio, with over 40 years in the industry working across some of the UK’s biggest radio stations. He acquired the nickname ‘Kid’ because he was the youngest radio presenter in Europe at the time and it has stayed with him ever since. His career took off in Europe when he joined Radio Luxembourg, followed by a move to the UK.

Recently - and rather proudly - Kid presented a run of shows on Jazz FM. He is a lifelong jazz aficionado and was delighted to be able to announce this to the world by way of picking his favourite players, singers and songs for this show. He states that he is as proud of these broadcasts as anything he has ever done.

For more than 10 years, Kid has also been living with Parkinson’s. He announced his diagnosis to the world in a series of poignant interviews across the UK media. Ever the optimist, Kid decided to throw his hat into the ring and take a positive approach to his own health and the condition in general. He contacted Parkinson’s UK and immediately offered his support to the charity and is now a keen fundraiser as well as an ambassador, helping to raise awareness and understanding of the condition which is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world.

In the light of the above, Kid has gathered a team together in order to put on a fundraising concert for Parkinson’s UK at Cadogan Hall on 11th April 2022.

The event will feature performances from friends and colleagues both past and present, with all profits going to Parkinson’s UK. It’ll be a fun evening of music and memories with some great performers involved - including Jools Holland - as well as Chris Tarrant hosting. Watch out for some suprise guests!

As befitting his love of jazz, the Kid is delighted that the show is proudly supported by Jazz FM.
