Aretha Franklin to be honoured with all-star London concert

The show will be at The Barbican next week featuring New York Afrobeat ensemble Antibalas

The music of Aretha Franklin will be celebrated with an all-star concert at The Barbican next week. New York based Afrobeat collective Antibalas will be joined on stage by US singers Betty Lavette, José James and Nona Hendryx from Labelle, along with British vocal talents Zara McFarlane and Alice Russell. They’re promising and energetic evening of timeless favourites to deep cuts from her back catalogue. It’s called ‘Respect to Aretha’ and it’s being held on September the 12th.
