A previously unreleased album from pioneering jazz pianist Bill Evans has been revealed. On A Friday Evening is a recently-discovered live performance of the Bill Evans Trio (with Eddie Gómez on bass and Eliot Zigmund on drums), recorded in 1975.

The live performance - originally recorded for radio host Gary Barclay - took place at Oil Can Harry's in Vancouver, Canada, and has been restored by Plangent Processes, with mastering by Paul Blakemore.

The album will be released in tandem with a new 60-track reissue box set of the pianist - Everybody Still Digs Bill Evans: A Career Retrospective (1956-1980), which covers his time at Riverside, Milestone, Fantasy, Verve, Warner Bros., and Elektra/Musician.

When will the Bill Evans Trio - On A Friday Evening & Everybody Still Digs Bill Evans: A Career Retrospective (1956-1980) be released?

Both On A Friday Evening & Everybody Still Digs Bill Evans: A Career Retrospective (1956-1980) Everybody Still Digs Bill Evans are set to be released on the 25 June 2021 via Craft Recordings.
