Herbie Hancock 80th vinyl boxset announced
VMP Anthology presents an 11-LP boxset telling 'The Story of Herbie Hancock'
It's been announced that a mega 11LP, 8 album Herbie Hancock boxset is being released. Celebrating his 80th birthday, the boxset will reflect 60 years of Herbie Hancock's prolific career.
The boxset, hand-picked by Herbie himself, will include 8 remastered 180g black vinyl, housed in heavyweight jackets, presented in a commemorative box.
The boxset includes: Takin' Off (1962), Maiden Voyage (1965), Head Hunters (1973), The V.S.O.P. Quintet: Live Under the Sky (1979), The Piano (1979), Future Shock (1983), 1+1 (1997) and The River (2007).
Alongside the boxset, there will be an exclusive podcast series which includes interviews with the Grammy-winning keyboardist alongside contributions from stars Corrine Bailey Rae, Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter, the Jazz FM Award-winning Robert Glasper and more.
