WBGO presents: the LetterOne Rising Stars Jazz Award

Jazz FM has teamed up with New York’s jazz station WBGO to broadcast this prestigious award ceremony

The fourth annual edition of the highly-acclaimed LetterOne RISING STARS Jazz Award is coming to Jazz FM.

Presented by WBGO and hosted by Jamie Cullum and featuring appearances by Dee Dee Bridgewater, Terri Lyne Carrington, Christian McBride and others as well as the winners, the prestigious award offers one European winner and one U.S. winner the unprecedented opportunity to appear at popular Jazz festivals throughout Europe and the U.S respectively, with all expenses covered and an accompanying dedicated promotion/marketing team.

The award is designed for jazz musicians to make a name for themselves on a national and international stage.

Previous recipients of the award include Kathrine Windfeld, Sasha Berliner, Adrien Brandeis, Tom Ibarra and Giveton Gelin.

This year's competition has seen over 700 artists and groups apply for the accolade.

When is the LetterOne Rising Stars Jazz Award being announced?

The ceremony will be broadcast by WBGO and livestreamed on our Facebook page this Saturday evening (2am), so you can watch it then. Or you can hear the whole thing go out on Jazz FM on Monday night – 8th February 2021 from 6pm.
