A new and unreleased Miles Davis album - The Lost Septet - will be available from 31st July 2020 via Sleepy Night records.

“If you are going to change your music, you gotta change your band,” Miles Davis said. And he never stood still. The incredible 7 piece band, ‘The Lost Septet’, never recorded in the studio, but we are lucky that they did a European tour in October / November 1971.

Featuring some star players including pianist Keith Jarrett and saxophonist Gary Bartz, the recording was made by a radio station in Vienna when the group played at the famous Weiner Konzerthaus in the city.

The album features music from his explorations of jazz-rock-fusion, including songs from Bitches Brew, In a Silent Way and Live-Evil. It’s the second part of a trilogy of lost Miles Davis performances, with the third part to follow in a few months’ time.

The Lost Septet is officially released on the 31st July 2020.
