Enigmatic and mysterious British saxophonist Steve Williamson is set to play a rare date at Pizza Express in Dean Street in London's Soho on 1st September. Original member of the ground breaking band The Jazz Warriors Williamson has been somewhat reclusive since the the early nineties after a string of acclaimed album releases of his own but has recently returned to the limelight with appearances in a live re-imagination of John Coltrane's 'A Love Supreme' and latterly as guest on the recent free jazz album from genre busting group Black Top.

The jazz telegraph is excited at the prospect of reinvented established compositions and more new material from this giant of British jazz and at the band set to include singer Philomena Campus, bass man Michael Mondesir, pianist Benet McLean and MOBO Award winning experimental drummer Seb Rochford from the band Polar Bear.
