Thundercat appears on 'Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett'

The Grammy Award-winning bassist has made his acting debut on the TV series

Award-winning bassist and composer Thundercat has made his acting debut, appearing on Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett.

Stephen Bruner - better known by his stage name Thundercat - plays a brief cameo role in the episode, simply known as the "Modifier". It is not yet known whether his character will re-appear in later episodes of the series.

The series is part of the Star Wars franchise, which is owned by Disney and created for Disney's streaming service Disney+

Thundercat has collaborated and produced extensively - working with artists including Erykah Badu, Kamasi Washington and Kendrick Lamar. The artist has been awarded two Grammy Awards to date, the first for his contributions with Kendrick Lamar on the song 'These Walls', as well as being awarded the award for 'Best Progressive R&B Artist' in 2021 for his album It Is What It Is. He is also a Jazz FM Award winner, winning 'Album of the Year' in 2018.
