One of Miles Davis' final ever performances is due to be released for the very first time.

Merci Miles! Live at Vienne is a new album, from Rhino Records, which marks the moment in history where the Miles Davis Group performed at Jazz à Vienne, located near Lyon, France, on the 1st of July in 1991. A few days later, Miles was knighted by French Culture Minister Jack Long - dubbing him "the Picasso of Jazz".

This July 1991 performance would be one of Miles' last, as he passed away in September of that year.

Merci Miles! Live at Vienne features several songs written by longtime friend Prince - 'Penetration' and 'Jailbait' - alongside Miles' own original compositions.
