About Women In Jazz

Championing and nurturing female talent

"Women In Jazz began as a mission to celebrate female talent and help solve the under-representation of women in Jazz. We nurture and champion the most exciting female talent from all backgrounds, ages and expressions.

Only 5% of Jazz instrumentalists are women in the UK today - we’re here to change that.

Through our live events, broadcasts and educational work we connect artists and audiences in unique live, audio and visual experiences and teach music business sessions to independent artists. We celebrate and make visible the integral role women have always played in Jazz and continue to do so today!

In our first year, we built an online community of 6k people, programmed 6 sell-out live events, 12 radio shows and a range of DJ and music business workshops for emerging Artists.

All Women In Jazz events and activities are inclusive of all people - you don’t have to be a woman to celebrate women!"
