Challenges for women musicians in jazz and ways forward for equal representation at jazz festivals

In 2020, Dr Sarah Raine released the study 'Keychanges at Cheltenham Jazz Festival'. In Jazz FM Voices: Women In Music, contributor Emily Jones highlights some of the statistics found in this piece of research - and expresses that, even though some of the findings aren't surprising for someone like her who works in the industry, we must continue to be shocked and challenge the behaviours.
